Carp are extremely
fast-growing fish. In areas where diploid grass carp, or Asian carp species,
have been introduced they out compete other species for food, and remove
vegetation that provides habitat necessary for other species for reproduction.
They also increase turbidity and deplete dissolved oxygen in the water.
