George Orr
Governor Gregoire appointed George Orr to the Commission on August 8, 2007. George served as a Washington State Representative from 1990 – 1994, representing the fourth district. He retired in 2004 from the Spokane Valley Fire Department after 34 years of service and served as a union official for the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 876. He was appointed to the Washington State Gambling Commission in 2000 and served two terms as chair, beginning in 2001. He was a member of the Central Valley School board from 1983 – 1990 and is a current member of the Spokane Walleye Club and the Inland Northwest Wildlife Council.
Orr is an avid angler and a hunter. He and his wife Judy have five children, 10 grandchildren and reside in Spokane.
