Miranda Wecker, Vice Chair
Miranda Wecker was first appointed to the Commission in March 2005. In January 2007, she was reappointed by the Governor, and was elected by the Commission to serve as Vice Chair. A graduate of the University of Washington School of Law with a Masters of Law and Marine Affairs Degree, she has 20-plus years of experience working with scientists and public policymakers, and has led the marine program of the UW’s Olympic Natural Resources Center since 1995. She has served on many boards and is currently active with many local conservation groups, and also provides consulting services to non-profit organizations. Miranda and her husband, Jim Hidy, enjoy mountain biking, cross-country and downhill skiing, and fishing the coastal rivers.
