SPECIAL MEETING / CONFERENCE CALL April 29, 2004 - 9:00 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Will Roehl, Chair Jeff Koenings, Director Ron Ozment, Vice Chair Larry Peck, Deputy Director John A. Hunter Ross Fuller, Fish Program Fred Shiosaki Bruce Bjork, Enforcement Program Bob Tuck Tim Waters, Public Affairs R.P. "Van" Van Gytenbeek Evan Jacoby, Enforcement Program Commission Staff: Susan Yeager Public Holly Ledgerwood Attorney General's Office: R. Dan Leinan, City of Forks Bill Frymire John Charba, House Republican Caucus Amy McKenzie Chair Roehl called the conference call to order at 9:05 a.m. The Commission immediately went into Executive Session. The public was not allowed to attend the Executive Session. EXECUTIVE SESSION Pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i), the Commission met in Executive Session to discuss with legal counsel representing the Department, potential litigation to which the Department is or is likely to become a party. At 9:25 a.m., the Commission came back into public session. PETITION TO AMEND WAC 232-12-619, PERMANENT WASHINGTON STATEWIDE GAME FISH RULES - CITY OF FORKS, ET AL: Commissioner Shiosaki moved, seconded by Commissioner Hunter, to direct the Department to initiate rule-making regarding appropriate measures for protection and management of fish resources, specifically including steelhead. The motion carried. RECENT ACTIVITIES: Commissioners and Jeff Koenings discussed recent activities and items of interest.
