CONFERENCE CALL August 12, 1999 - 9:00 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Kelly White, Chairman Larry Peck, Deputy Director Russ Cahill, Vice Chairman Guy Norman Lisa Pelly Will Roehl Public: Fred Shiosaki None Bob Tuck Commission Staff: Debbie Nelson Commissioners and Deputy Director Peck discussed recent activities and items of interest. Guy Norman briefed the Commission on the 1999 Columbia River fall fishing agreement. Commissioner Roehl moved, seconded by Commissioner Cahill, to request that the Department: - Draft a letter for Chairman and Director signatures to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requesting they relocate their dredge dumping to an area further from shore and destroy the dredge island(s) to such a degree that they may no longer be attractive to, or used by, sea birds; and - Create a rough budget for doing a survey on the Puget Sound shrimp and crab resources which would provide the Commission and the public basic information on which to make decisions, requests, etc. The motion carried unanimously.
