CONFERENCE CALL August 17, 2007 - 8:30 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Jerry Gutzwiler, Chair Jeff Koenings, Director Miranda Wecker, Vice Chair Tom Davis, Legislative Office Ken Chew Bill Jarmon, Enforcement Gary Douvia Margaret Ainscough, Public Affairs Conrad Mahnken Jim Buck, Fish Program George Orr Heather Bartlett, Fish Program Chuck Perry Commission Staff: Public Susan Yeager None PROGRESS REPORT ON STATEWIDE STEELHEAD DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT (DEIS) - BRIEFING: Heather Bartlett and Jim Buck provided a status report to the Commission on the process to improve the management and status of steelhead in Washington, and on the DEIS public hearings currently taking place around the state. 2008 AGENCY REQUEST LEGISLATION - BRIEFING: Tom Davis briefed the Commission on potential agency request legislation for the upcoming session. The commission will consider approving the Department's final proposals during the September 7, 2007, Commission Conference Call. AUGUST 20-21, 2007, WORK SESSION - DISCUSSION: The Commission reviewed and discussed the draft agenda for its special work session on August 20-21, 2007, in Olympia. GENERAL DISCUSSION: Commissioners and Director Koenings discussed recent activities and items of interest. Chair Gutzwiler adjourned the Conference Call at 10:23 a.m.
