CONFERENCE CALL December 5, 2001 - 9:00 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Russ Cahill, Chair Jeff Koenings, Director Will Roehl, vice Chair Larry Peck, Deputy Director Ron Ozment Phil Anderson Lisa Pelly Mike Lufkin, Attorney General's Office Van Van Gytenbeek Jeff Tayer Commission Staff: Public Debbie Nelson John Dodge, The Olympian Department staff provided the Commission with an additional briefing on the Medicine Creek Treaty hunting boundary. Commissioner Van Gytenbeek moved, seconded by Commissioner Roehl, to approve the Minutes of the following: - September 6, 2001 Commission conference call; - November 1, 2001 Commission conference call; and - November 9-10, 2001 Commission workshop. The motion to approve the Minutes carried unanimously. The Commission, Director Koenings, and Deputy Director Peck discussed recent activities and items of interest. The Commission has received numerous citizen complaints regarding the special youth deer hunt in the Okanogan. As requested by the Commission, Deputy Director Peck will see if the Enforcement Program has had any problems associated with these youth hunts. Director Koenings will schedule a meeting (tentative date: January 15, 2002) with John Wasserman from the Skagit System Cooperative, the Commission Executive Committee, and Department staff to discuss Skagit County buffers.
