CONFERENCE CALL July 21, 2006 - 8:30 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Ron Ozment, Chair Jeff Koenings, Director Ken Chew Larry Peck, Deputy Director Jerry Gutzwiler Ron McQueen, Business Services Conrad Mahnken Steve Pozzanghera, Wildlife Program Chuck Perry Bill Hebner, Enforcement Program Will Roehl Rich Mann, Enforcement Program Shirley Solomon Don Kraege, Wildlife Program Miranda Wecker Commission Staff: Public Nancy Burkhart none Chair Ozment called the conference call to order at 8:34 a.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Wecker moved, seconded by Commissioner Chew, to approve the minutes of the July 7, 2006, Commission conference call. The motion carried unanimously. (Since they had not read the minutes, Commissioners Ozment and Solomon abstained from discussion and vote on the motion.) 2006-2007 MIGRATORY WATERFOWL SEASONS AND REGULATIONS -- BRIEFING: Don Kraege and Captain Bill Hebner briefed the Commission on proposed 2006-2007 migratory waterfowl seasons and regulations that would provide hunting recreation and damage control consistent with the status of waterfowl species. The Commission will consider action at its August 4-5, 2006, meeting in Mt. Vernon. No oral testimony on the rule proposals was received during the meeting. GENERAL DISCUSSION: Commissioners and Director Koenings discussed recent activities and items of interest.
