PETITION TO AMEND WAC 220-95-013 (WAC 220-95-027) -- NICK AND MARIE JURLIN:
Bruce Crawford briefed the Commission on Nick and Marie Jurlin's Petition to Amend WAC 220-95-013. The petitioners are actually asking to amend WAC 220-95-027, Ranking and Acceptance of Salmon Purse Seine License Offers.
Commissioner Roehl moved, seconded by Commissioner Tuck, to deny Nick and Marie Jurlin's Petition to Amend WAC 220-95-027, Ranking and Acceptance of Salmon Purse Seine License Offers. The motion to deny the Petition carried unanimously.
CHANGES TO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES' OWL MANAGEMENT POLICY:
Director Koenings and Department staff will meet with Department of Natural Resources staff in the near future to urge DNR's continued protection of spotted owls in southwest Washington. The Department will recommend a management approach to siviculture that will not result in extirpation of spotted owls.
Commissioner Tuck requested the Department provide the Commission with a written summary of the outcome of the Department's meeting with the Department of Natural Resources.
MINUTES:
Commissioner Roehl moved, seconded by Commissioner Van Gytenbeek, to approve the Minutes of the June 7, 2001 Commission conference call. The motion to approve the Minutes carried unanimously. (Commissioner Shiosaki was absent during discussion and vote on the motion.)
STATUS OF THE DEPARTMENT'S 2001-2003 BUDGET:
Jim Lux briefed the Commission on the status of the Department's 2001-2003 Budget.
RECENT ACTIVITIES:
Commissioners and Deputy Director Peck discussed recent activities and items of interest.
