CONFERENCE CALL May 5, 2006 - 8:30 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Ron Ozment, Chair Jeff Koenings, Director Fred Shiosaki, Vice Chair Larry Peck, Deputy Director Ken Chew Phil Anderson, Intergovernmental Program Jerry Gutzwiler Bruce Bjork, Enforcement Conrad Mahnken Tom Davis, Legislative Affairs Office Chuck Perry Rich Childers, Fish Program Will Roehl Lisa Veneroso, Intergovernmental Program Shirley Solomon Evan Jacoby, Legal Services Miranda Wecker Mark Quinn, Wildlife Program Dave Ware, Wildlife Program Dora Austin, Business Services (Recording Secretary) Chair Ozment called the conference call to order at 8:35 a.m. PUGET SOUND DUNGENESS CRAB SEASONS: Commissioner Roehl moved, seconded by Commissioner Solomon, to open the Puget Sound recreational Dungeness crab fishery in Areas 6, 7, 8-1, 8-2, 9, 10, 11, and 12 July 1, 2006, through July 8, 2006. (Commissioner Chew was absent during discussion and vote on the motion.) Commissioner Perry moved, seconded by Commissioner Wecker, to amend the motion by keeping fishing closed in Areas 8-1 and 8-2 July 3 and 4, 2006. The motion to amend the motion carried. (Commissioner Chew was absent during discussion and vote on the motion.) The motion, as amended, carried unanimously. (Commissioner Chew was absent during discussion and vote on the motion.) GENERAL DISCUSSION: Commissioners and Director Koenings discussed recent activities and items of interest.
