CONFERENCE CALL November 17, 2006 - 8:30 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Ron Ozment, Chair Larry Peck, Deputy Director Fred Shiosaki, Vice Chair Morris Barker, Fish Program Ken Chew Jerry Gutzwiler Chuck Perry Shirley Solomon Public Commission Staff: None Susan Yeager RELIC SHELLS - RULE ACTION Morris Barker presented proposed permanent rule amendments to WAC 220-20-025, General provisions-Shellfish, and WAC 220-56-129, Unclassified freshwater invertebrates and fish, that would allow limited, non-commercial collection of relic shells. Commissioner Shiosaki moved, seconded by Commissioner Solomon, to adopt the permanent amendments to WAC 220-20-025, General provisions-Shellfish, and WAC 220-56-129, Unclassified freshwater invertebrates and fish, as proposed. The motion carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Commissioner Gutzwiler moved, seconded by Commissioner Perry, to approve the minutes of the October 20, 2006, Commission conference call. The motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Solomon moved, seconded by Commissioner Shiosaki, to approve the minutes of the November 3-4, 2006, Commission meeting. The motion failed. The Commission directed Commission staff to listen to the tape recording of the November 3-4, 2006, Commission meeting and add clarification, if necessary, concerning the Upper Columbia River Fishery Management Plan Briefing. Commission will reconsider approval at its December 8-9, 2006, meeting in Tumwater. GENERAL DISCUSSION: Commissioners and Deputy Director Peck discussed recent activities and items of interest.
