CONFERENCE CALL October 4, 2001 - 9:00 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Russ Cahill, Chair Jeff Koenings, Director Ron Ozment Larry Peck, Deputy Director Lisa Pelly Dora Austin Fred Sshiosaki Van Van Gytenbeek Kelly White Commission Staff: Public: None Debbie Nelson ADDITION TO 2002 DEPARTMENT REQUEST LEGISLATION: Deputy Director Peck presented a proposed addition to the Department's 2002 Request Legislation to require a personal use license to participate in the smelt fishery. No oral testimony on the proposed addition was received during the conference call. Commissioner Pelly moved, seconded by Commissioner Van Gytenbeek, to approve an additional item--Requiring a Personal Use License for Smelt--to be included in the Department's 2002 Request Legislation for submission to the Office of Financial Management. The motion to approve the additional item carried unanimously. ADDITION TO DEPARTMENT'S 2002 SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET REQUEST: Deputy Director Koenings presented a proposed addition to the Department's 2002 Supplemental Budget Request. No oral testimony on the proposed addition was received during the conference call. Commissioner Van Gytenbeek moved, seconded by Commissioner Pelly, to include the following additional items in the Department's proposed 2002 Supplemental Budget Request for submission to the Office of Financial Management: - Regional Fisheries Enhancement Groups - Governor's Water Strategy - Emergency Fire Costs - Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council Participation.
