CONFERENCE CALL
October 10, 2000 - 8:00 a.m.

Department staff presented the Department's recommendation of approval of numerous items to be included in the Department's 2001 Request Legislation for submission to the Office of Financial Management.
Commissioner Roehl moved, seconded by Commissioner Heinicke, to include in the Department's 2001 Request Legislation the package pertaining to authority to issue pamphlet hydraulic project approvals. The motion carried. (Commissioner Van Gytenbeek was absent during discussion and vote on the motion.)
Commissioner Roehl moved, seconded by Commissioner Tuck, to include in the Department's 2001 Request Legislation the package making the following technical corrections to Title 77 RCW: (1) correcting RCW references; (2) standardizing terminology for consistency within the RCW; (3) correcting obsolete terms; (4) eliminating redundancy and/or combining sections; and (5) ensuring that all species over which the Department has jurisdiction are incorporated into the code. The motion carried unanimously. (Chairman White was absent during discussion and vote on the motion.)
The Commission agreed with the Department's recommendation not to include bill language to amend RCW 77.04.030, Commission-Appointment, to reflect the current process used by the Governor of appointing three members to the Commission each odd-numbered year, and instead the Department would bring this issue to the attention of the Governor's Office to determine appropriate action.
Commissioner Roehl moved, seconded by Commissioner Pelly, to include in the Department's 2001 Request Legislation the package pertaining to access decal duplicates. The motion carried unanimously. (Chairman White was absent during discussion and vote on the motion.)
Commissioner Pelly moved, seconded by Commissioner Roehl, to include in the Department's 2001 Request Legislation the package pertaining to selective commercial salmon fishing gear. The motion carried unanimously. (Chairman White was absent during discussion and vote on the motion.)
