Whatcom County

The Whatcom County mappings were completed in 2007, as part of a project to characterize ecosystem processes and wildlife habitat in the Birch Bay Watershed.  Washington Department of Ecology performed the process mapping for the movement and delivery of water, nutrients, and pathogens.  Whatcom County Planning Department requested WDFW and Ecology assistance to inform implementation of the stormwater management plan for the Birch Bay Watershed.  Results of the multiple characterizations are contained in the draft and final Birch Bay pilot studies, published on the Whatcom County website, at: http://www.whatcomcounty.us/pds/shorelines_critical_areas/workproducts.jsp
