Triploid grass carp, which have been genetically altered to make them sterile, may be introduced (with a permit from WDFW) to control aquatic weeds. There are guidelines for introducing them. As mentioned before, the fish will uproot and eat most aquatic vegetation, and do not preferentially target nuisance species such as milfoil. They are a long-lived fish that gets quite large.
