Select Areas Fisheries
- The Compact met today to consider modifying the ongoing Select Area commercial fisheries.
- The Compact adopted rules to prohibit sturgeon retention (sales) in all Select Area commercial fisheries effective at 12:00 pm (noon) Wednesday June 4 through July 31, 2008. Salmon and shad sales are allowed.
- Commercial SAFE fisheries are in place from 7p-7a on Monday and Thursday nights in specific areas of Blind Slough/Knappa Slough, Deep River and Tongue Point/South Channel through June 13. The Youngs bay area is open from noon Mondays through noon Fridays through June 13. Additional fishing periods are in place for the Youngs Bay summer season.
- No Compact hearings are scheduled at this time.
