A Compact hearing took place today to review the upriver spring chinook stock status and Columbia River fisheries.
The Compact took no action today.
Recreational chinook fisheries remain in place and are expected to continue through June 15, which marks the end of the spring management period.
Summer season begins June 16, and the retention of marked and unmarked chinook will be allowed. Check the "2006/2007 Fishing in Washington" pamphlet for details.
No additional commercial fishing periods are in place for the remainder of the spring season.
The next Compact hearing is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 15, to discuss commercial summer chinook fishing periods. The meeting will be held at the WDFW office at 2108 Grand Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98661.
