2006 Treaty Indian Fisheries

Commercial Gillnet Fishery

DATES:

6:00 AM Monday, July 10 until 6:00 PM Thursday, July 13
6:00 AM Monday, July 17 until 6:00 PM Thursday, July 20
6:00 AM Monday, July 24 until 6:00 PM Thursday, July 27

AREA: All of Zone 6
GEAR: 7-inch minimum mesh size restriction through July 13.
8-inch minimum mesh size restriction July 17 through July 27.
SANCTUARIES: Standard river mouth and dam sanctuaries remain in effect. The Spring Creek Hatchery Sanctuary is not necessary this time of year.
ALLOWABLE SALES:Chinook, coho, steelhead, walleye, carp, and shad may be sold or retained for subsistence. Sockeye may not be sold but may be retained for subsistence. Sturgeon may not be sold. Sturgeon between 4-5 feet in length in The Dalles and John Day pools may be retained for subsistence. Sturgeon between 45-60 inches in the Bonneville pool may also be retained for subsistence.

Sales of platform and hook and line caught fish will continue until further notice. The intent is to allow sales of platform and hook and line caught fish through the summer season.

Additionally, the Yakama Nation will continue the commercial sale of fish caught during its regular scheduled openings in the Klickitat and White Salmon Rivers that are allowed under Yakama Nation regulations.

MISCELLANEOUS RULES: The quick reporting rule for Washington buyers will be in effect.
