Joint State staff met today to discuss sturgeon sport fisheries in the area between Bonneville Dam and The Dalles Dam. The results are listed below.

THE BONNEVILLE POOL STURGEON SPORT FISHERY

• Action was taken on the fishery. The fishery will close to retention, effective 12:01 AM, Saturday July 12, 2008.

• Harvest guideline of 700 Sturgeon has been met.

• The time of the next Compact hearing scheduled 11 AM Thursday July 10 has been changed to 12:00 Noon, via teleconference. The Compact will consider treaty Indian commercial fisheries.

• A Compact hearing is scheduled via teleconference for 10 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2008, to consider fall Select Area fisheries, early fall mainstem commercial fisheries, and the recreational sturgeon fishery between Wauna Powerlines and Bonneville Dam.
