A Joint-State hearing took place today to review Fall Chinook Salmon Stock Status and the ongoing recreational fisheries.
The following action was taken:
Effective 12:01 AM Friday October 13, 2006 the mainstem Columbia River will re-open to the retention of Chinook salmon from Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam. Permanent regulations will be in effect.

2006 COMMERCIAL SALMON FISHERY
| SEASON #1: | 7 PM Thursday October 12 to 7 AM Friday October 13 (12 hours) |

| AREA: | Zones 4-5 |
| SANCTUARIES: | Lewis-A, Sandy and Washougal rivers |
| GEAR: | 8-inch minimum and 9 ¾ - inch maximum mesh size |
| SEASON #2: | 7 PM Monday October 16 to 7 AM Tuesday October 17, 2006 (12 hours) |

| AREA: | Zones 1-5 |
| SANCTUARIES: | Elokomin-A, Abernathy, Cowlitz River, Kalama-A, Lewis-A, Washougal and Sandy Rivers |
| GEAR: | 9- inch minimum mesh size 9 3/4 inch maximum mesh size |

| Allowable Sales: |
Salmon and sturgeon. A maximum of 8 white sturgeon may be possessed or sold by each participating vessel during each calendar week (Sunday through Saturday) that the fishery is open. Green sturgeon retention prohibited. |
