Columbia River Spring Chinook
Sport Fishery below I-5 Bridge

• The states of Washington and Oregon met today to review the on-going Columbia River spring Chinook sport fishery below Bonneville Dam, in the area between Buoy 10 and the I-5 Bridge.
   
• No action was taken on this fishery. The fishery will remain open as scheduled through Sunday April 15, 2007.
   
• Effective 12:01 AM Monday April 16, 2007 the Columbia River from Buoy 10 upstream to Bonneville Dam will close for salmon and steelhead angling.
   
• The area above Bonneville Dam (Bonneville to McNary Dam excluding salmon angling from a boat and from the Washington shore between Bonneville Dam and Tower Island power lines) is scheduled to remain open through April 30, 2007.
   
• Check the fishing pamphlet for regulations on Chinook retention in Washington tributaries.
   
• A Compact is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 17 via telephone to discuss Select Area commercial fisheries.
