Columbia River Compact / Joint State Action Notice

Columbia River Spring Chinook
Sport Fishery below I-5 Bridge
- The states of Washington and Oregon
met today to review the on-going Columbia River spring Chinook sport fishery
below Bonneville Dam, in the area between Buoy 10 and the I-5 Bridge.
- No action was taken on this fishery.
The fishery will remain open as scheduled through Sunday April 15, 2007.
- Effective 12:01 AM Monday April
16, 2007 the Columbia River from Buoy 10 upstream to Bonneville Dam will close
for salmon and steelhead angling.
- The area above Bonneville Dam
(Bonneville to McNary Dam excluding salmon angling from a boat and from the
Washington shore between Bonneville Dam and Tower Island power lines) is scheduled
to remain open through April 30, 2007.
- Check the fishing pamphlet for
regulations on Chinook retention in Washington tributaries.
- A Compact is scheduled for 10:00
a.m. Tuesday April 17 via telephone to discuss Select Area commercial fisheries.
