A Joint-State hearing took place today to review salmon stock status and the ongoing recreational fisheries.
The following action was taken:
Beginning 12:01 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2006 the retention of Chinook salmon will be prohibited from Rocky Point/Tongue Point line to Bonneville Dam. Retention of hatchery coho and hatchery steelhead will remain open as per permanent regulations.
Beginning 12:01 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2006 the retention of Chinook Salmon will be prohibited from Bonneville Dam upstream to Highway 395 bridge in Pasco. Retention of coho and hatchery steelhead will remain open as per permanent regulations. Non-adipose coho must be released downstream of the Hood River Bridge.
The Buoy 10 fishery will remain open as per permanent regulations
