The following Columbia River Seasons were set:

2006 COMMERCIAL SALMON FISHERY

2006 COMMERCIAL SALMON FISHERY
DATES: 8:00 PM Tuesday September 19 to 8 AM Wednesday September 20
AREA: Zones 1-5.
SANCTUARIES: Grays River, Elokomin-A, Cowlitz River, Kalama-A, Lewis-A, Washougal and Sandy rivers.
GEAR: 8" minimum and 9¾" maximum mesh size restriction.
ALLOWABLE SALES: Chinook, coho, and sturgeon. A maximum of eight white sturgeon total may be possessed or sold by each participating vessel during each calendar week (Sunday through Saturday) that the fishery is open. The sturgeon possession/sales limit includes both mainstem and Select Area commercial fisheries. Green sturgeon retention is prohibited in all commercial fisheries.
MISCELLANEOUS RULES: Quick Reporting Rules will be in effect for Washington buyers. WAC 220-69-240Washington buyers are required to send a report of their landings to WDFW by 10AM on the day after the purchase date by either:

DATES:

6AM Monday, September 18 to 6PM Friday, September 22 (4.5 days)
6AM Monday, September 25 to 6PM Friday, September 29 (4.5 days)

AREA: All of Zone 6.
SANCTUARIES: Standard river mouth and dam sanctuaries will be in effect. The standard Spring Creek Hatchery sanctuary will be used.
GEAR: 8" minimum mesh size restriction.
ALLOWABLE SALES: Chinook, coho, steelhead, walleye, carp, and shad may be sold or retained for subsistence. Sockeye may not be sold but may be retained for subsistence. Sturgeon may not be sold. Sturgeon between 4-5 feet in length in The Dalles and John Day pools may be retained for subsistence. Sturgeon between 45-60 inches in the Bonneville pool may also be retained for subsistence.

WDFW has adopted rules that require commercial purchasers to report their landings by a specified time. Washington buyers are required to send a report of their landings to WDFW by 10AM on the day after the purchase date by either:
