Columbia River Spring Chinook
Sport Fishery below Bonneville Dam
CLOSURE

The states of Washington and Oregon met today to review the on-going Columbia River spring chinook sport fishery below Bonneville Dam and took the following action:

Effective Monday April 21, 2008

All salmon, steelhead and shad angling will be prohibited on the Mainstem Columbia River from the Hayden Island west powerlines upstream to Bonneville Dam.

  • The fishery currently in place above Bonneville Dam remains open.
  • Staff will monitor the spring chinook run and provide updates when available.
  • Notice to Fishers: Call the "Hotline" Number to get the current fishing season. The hotline number is 360-902-2500 or 360-696-6211 *1010.
  • Visit WDFW website at http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishcorn.htm for fact sheets, action notices and landings.
