The following Columbia River Seasons were set:

2006 NON-INDIAN COMMERCIAL SALMON FISHERY

Non-Indian Mainstem Fall Salmon Fishery
SEASON: 8 PM Monday, August 21 to 7 AM Tuesday, August 22
8 PM Thursday, August 24 to 7 AM Friday, August 25
AREA: Zones 3-5 on August 21-22
Zones 4-5 on August 24-25
SANCTUARIES: Cowlitz, Kalama-A, Lewis-A, Washougal and Sandy River.
GEAR: 9" minimum and 9¾" maximum mesh size restriction.
ALLOWABLE SALES: Salmon and sturgeon. A maximum of 7 white sturgeon may be possessed or sold by each participating vessel during each calendar week (Sunday through Saturday) that the fishery is open. The 7 sturgeon possession and sales limit includes both mainstem and Select Area fisheries.

Green sturgeon retention is prohibited.

MISCELLANEOUS RULES: Quick Reporting Rules will be in effect for Washington buyers.

TREATY INDIAN COMMERCIAL FISHERIES
DATES: 6AM Monday, August 21 to 6PM Thursday, August 24 (3 1/2 days)
6AM Monday, August 28 to 6PM Friday, September 1 (4.5 days)
6AM Tuesday, September 5 to 6PM Saturday, September 9 (4.5 days)
AREA: All of Zone 6
SANCTUARIES: Standard river mouth and dam sanctuaries will be in effect. The standard Spring Creek Hatchery sanctuary will be used.
GEAR: No minimum mesh size restriction for first two openings. For opening, 9/5-9/9, there will be an 8" minimum mesh size restriction.
ALLOWABLE SALES: Chinook, coho, steelhead, walleye, carp, and shad may be sold or retained for subsistence. Sockeye may not be sold but may be retained for subsistence. Sturgeon may not be sold. Sturgeon between 4-5 feet in length in The Dalles and John Day pools may be retained for subsistence. Sturgeon between 45-60 inches in the Bonneville pool may also be retained for subsistence.
MISCELLANEOUS RULES: The quick reporting rule for Washington buyers will be in effect.

WDFW has adopted rules that require commercial purchasers to report their landings by a specified time. Washington buyers are required to send a report of their landings to WDFW by 10AM on the day after the purchase date by either:
