Columbia River Compact / Joint State Action Notice

The Joint States met today to review the status of the ongoing recreational fisheries above and below Bonneville Dam and took the following action:

Recreational Fishery below Bonneville Dam
Retention of Chinook salmon in the Columbia River recreational fisheries from Buoy 10 upstream to Bonneville Dam will be PROHIBITED effective:12:01 AM Wednesday September 19, 2007 until further notice.

In addition:

Recreational Fishery above Bonneville Dam
Retention of Chinook salmon in Columbia River recreational fisheries from Bonneville Dam upstream to the Highway 395 bridge in Pasco, Washington will be PROHIBITED effective:
12:01 AM Thursday September 20, 2007 until further notice.

Both areas remain open for retention of hatchery coho and hatchery steelhead as per permanent regulations
