Late Fall Non-Indian Commercial Salmon Fishery
Target Coho: 7 AM through 7 PM Monday October 1, 2007. (12 hours)
7 AM through 7 PM Wednesday October 3, 2007 (12 hours)
Area: Zones 1-3
Gear: 6 - inch maximum mesh size unslackened floater gillnet
 
Target Sturgeon: 7 AM through 7 PM Thursday October 4, 2007 (12 hours)
Area: Zones 1-5
Gear: 9-inch minimum mesh size and 9¾-inch maximum mesh size
The following regulations apply to all fisheries listed above:
Sanctuaries: As applicable: Elokomin-B, Abernathy, Cowlitz, Kalama-B, Lewis-B, Sandy, and Washougal rivers

Allowable Sales:

Salmon and white sturgeon. A maximum of 7 white sturgeon may be possessed or sold by each participating vessel during each calendar week (Sunday through Saturday) that the fishery is open. Limit applies to mainstem only. The weekly white sturgeon limit in Select Areas remains at 5 white sturgeon for each participating vessel during each calendar week (Sunday through Saturday).

Rules:

Multiple Net Rule: It will be legal to have onboard a commercial vessel more than one net as long as the nets are of legal size for the fishery, or the net has a minimum mesh size of 9 inches, and the length of any one net does not exceed 1,500 feet in length.

Nets not specifically authorized for use in the fishery may be onboard the vessel if properly stored. A properly stored net is defined as a net on a drum that is fully covered by a tarp (canvas or plastic) and bound with a minimum of ten revolutions of rope with a diameter of 3/8 (0.375) inches or greater.

24 hour Quick Reporting Rules will be in effect for Washington buyers. Buyers must report within 24 hours of each fishery closure.

Future Compact Hearings

A Compact hearing is scheduled via teleconference for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 3, 2007 to consider non-Indian fisheries.

2007 TREATY INDIAN COMMERCIAL FISHERIES

2007 Fall Season- Treaty Indian Commercial Gillnet Fishery
DATES: 6:00 AM Wednesday, October 3 until 6:00 PM Saturday, October 6 (3.5 days)
AREA: All of Zone 6
GEAR: 8 inch minimum mesh size restriction
SANCTUARIES: Standard river mouth and dam sanctuaries remain in effect, including the Standard Spring Creek Hatchery Sanctuary.
ALLOWABLE SALES: Chinook, coho, steelhead, walleye, carp, and shad may be sold or retained for subsistence. Sturgeon may not be sold. Sturgeon between 4-5 feet in length in The Dalles and John Day pools may be retained for subsistence. Sturgeon between 45-60 inches in the Bonneville pool may also be retained for subsistence.
ADDITIONAL RULES: 24-hour quick reporting rule for Washington buyers will be in effect.
