COMPACT HEARING RESULTS:

Summer Chinook Recreational Fishery

• The Compact met today to review Upper Columbia Summer Chinook stock status and the ongoing recreational fisheries below Bonneville Dam.

• No action was taken on this fishery. The fishery remains open at this time.

• Management will continue to monitor the fishery as it progresses to insure that the harvest allocation is not exceeded.

• A Compact hearing may be scheduled to consider additional commercial and treaty Indian fishing periods prior to the July 6 hearing.

• A Compact/Joint State hearing has been scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday July 6 via teleconference.

• A Compact is scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday July 27, 2006 located at 25 River St in Cathlamet, Washington 98612.
