Treaty Indian Sturgeon Setline Fishery

Season:

6 AM Monday August 3 through 6 PM Saturday August 15, 2009

Area:

The Dalles Pool (SMCRA 1G)

Sanctuaries:

Standard sanctuaries applicable to this gear type are in effect.

Gear:

Setlines with a minimum hook size of 9/0. Fishers are encouraged to use circle hooks and avoid J-hooks.

Allowable Sales:

Sturgeon between 43-54 inches in fork length caught in The Dalles Pool may be sold or kept for subsistence use. Platform hook and line caught sturgeon between 43-54 inches in fork length caught in The Dalles Pool during the open setline fishery may be sold or kept for subsistence.

Columbia River Quick Reporting Rule:

24 hour quick reporting required for Washington wholesale dealers, WAC 220-69-240. When quick reporting is required, Columbia River reports must be submitted within 24 hours of closure of the designated fishery.


Treaty Indian Platform/Hook and Line Fishery

For the ongoing treaty platform/ hook and line fisheries currently in place (including Yakama Nation fisheries), the Compact removed the Washington State requirement for 24-hour quick reporting.
