PFMC OCEAN SPORT QUOTA REPORT Columbia Ocean Area (including Oregon) Ocean Area 1 (Columbia Ocean Area) opened for recreational salmon fishing on Sunday, June 29 with a quota of 112,500 coho and a guideline of 12,700 chinook. Water conditions this past week were good. The catch estimates for Area 1 during week 32 are 1,685 chinook and 17,978 coho. A total of 5 pink were also landed. Cumulative catches through August 10 total 3,750 chinook (30% of the guideline) and 51,115 coho (45% of the quota). Westport Ocean Area 2 (Westport) opened for recreational salmon fishing on Sunday, June 22 with a quota of 83,250 coho and a guideline of 40,600 chinook. Water conditions this past week were good. The catch estimates for Area 2 during week 32 are 2,578 chinook and 3,060 coho. A total of 400 pink were also landed. Cumulative catches through August 10 total 13,674 chinook (34% of the guideline) and 20,664 coho (25% of the quota). La Push Ocean Area 3 (La Push) opened for recreational salmon fishing on Sunday, June 22 with a quota of 5,750 coho and a guideline of 2,300 chinook . Water conditions this past week were good. The catch estimates for Area 3 during week 32 are 263 chinook and 455 coho. A total of 199 pink were also landed. Cumulative catches through August 10 total 1,194 chinook (52% of the guideline) and 2,198 coho (38% of the quota). Neah Bay Ocean Area 4 (Neah Bay) opened for recreational salmon fishing on Sunday, June 22 with a quota of 23,400 coho and a guideline of 3,900 chinook. Water conditions this past week were good. The catch estimates for Area 4 during week 32 are 375 chinook and 3,373 coho. A total of 2,174 pink were also landed. Cumulative catches through August 10 total 4,177 chinook (7% over the guideline) and 13,652 coho (58% of the quota). |
