SPORT QUOTA REPORT Note: In-season action opens the Columbia and Westport ocean areas to recreational salmon fishing 7 days per week effective Friday, July 25. Ocean Area 1 (Columbia Ocean Area): opened for recreational salmon fishing on Sunday, June 29 with a quota of 112,500 coho and a guideline of 12,700 chinook. Water conditions this past week ranged from good to moderate. The catch estimates for Area 1 during week 29 are 606 chinook and 6,369 coho. No pink were landed. Cumulative catches through July 20 total 1,138 chinook (9% of the guideline) and 16,292 coho (15% of the quota). Ocean Area 2 (Westport): opened for recreational salmon fishing on Sunday, June 22 with a quota of 83,250 coho and a guideline of 40,600 chinook. Water conditions this past week ranged from good to moderate. The catch estimates for Area 2 during week 29 are 1,669 chinook and 3,864 coho. A total of 212 pink were also landed. Cumulative catches through July 20 total 5,808 chinook (14% of the guideline) and 13,712 coho (17% of the quota). Ocean Area 3 (La Push): opened for recreational salmon fishing on Sunday, June 22 with a quota of 5,750 coho and a guideline of 2,300 chinook . Water conditions this past week ranged from good to moderate. The catch estimates for Area 3 during week 29 are 154 chinook and 454 coho. A total of 60 pink were also landed. Cumulative catches through July 20 total 552 chinook (24% of the guideline) and 1,105 coho (19% of the quota). Ocean Area 4 (Neah Bay): opened for recreational salmon fishing on Sunday, June 22 with a quota of 23,400 coho and a guideline of 3,900 chinook. Water conditions this past week ranged from good to moderate. The catch estimates for Area 4 during week 29 are 512 chinook and 2,013 coho. A total of 654 pink were also landed. Cumulative catches through July 20 total 2,857 chinook (73% of the guideline) and 5,954 coho (25% of the quota). |
