QUOTA REPORT
Through Sunday, September 7, 2003
On August 21, a total
of 5,000 chinook from the north of Falcon recreational total allowable
catch was transferred to the north of Falcon non-Treaty troll total allowable
catch. The resulting recreational quota is 54,600 chinook; the revised
non-Treaty troll quota is 69,400 chinook.
Columbia Ocean
Area (including Oregon)
Ocean Area 1 (Columbia Ocean Area)
opened for recreational salmon fishing on Sunday, June 29 with a quota
of 112,500 coho and a guideline of 12,700 chinook. Water conditions
ranged from fair to rough last week. The catch estimates for Area 1
during week 36 are 304 chinook and 4,907 coho. No pink were landed.
Cumulative catches through September 7 total7,329 chinook and
98,543 coho (88% of the quota).
Westport
Ocean Area
2 (Westport) opened
for recreational salmon fishing on Sunday, June 22 with a quota of 83,250
coho and a guideline of 40,600 chinook. Water conditions ranged from
fair to rough last week. The catch estimates for Area 2 during week
36 are 1,272 chinook and 2,191 coho. A total of 26 pink were also landed.
Cumulative catches through September 7 total 21,304 chinook and
37,140 coho (45% of the quota).
La Push
Ocean Area
3 (La Push) opened
for recreational salmon fishing on Sunday, June 22 with a quota of 5,750
coho and a guideline of 2,300 chinook . Water conditions ranged from
fair to rough last week. The catch estimates for Area 3 during week
36 are 20 chinook and 95 coho. A total of 21 pink were also landed.
Cumulative catches through September 7 total 1,754 chinook and
3,354 coho (58% of the quota).
Neah Bay
Ocean Area 4
(Neah Bay) opened for recreational salmon fishing on Sunday, June
22 with a quota of 23,400 coho and a guideline of 3,900 chinook. Water
conditions ranged from fair to rough last week. The catch estimates
for Area 4 during week 36 are 28 chinook and 824 coho. A total of 109
pink were also landed. Cumulative catches through September 7 total
4,800 chinook and 19,800 coho (85% of the quota).
