The Ringold steelhead fishery opened Oct 1.
Angler hours for chinook and steelhead were up slightly this year compared to 2003.
The estimated catch for October was 1,143 (1,364 in 2003) and 990 were retained.
88% of the steelhead were Ringold origin (adipose + right vent clipped) and only 3.5% of the catch were wild (5.4% wild in 2003).
WDFW staff sampled 30% of the total effort.
