The Yakima River salmon sport fishery end on Oct 22. An estimated 66 chinook (47 adult, 19 jacks) were harvested the final week. Anglers averaged 38 hours per chinook. A total of 486 adult chinook and 27 jacks were caught this season. Total angler effort was similar to 2005 but catch was considerably lower. Final harvest estimates will be included in the WDFW annual report.
