City of Des Moines Park Conservation Area

WAC 220-16-700: "'City of Des Moines Park Conservation Area' is defined as those tidelands owned by the City of Des Moines at City of Des Moines Park, and the water column above these tidelands." Effective since 5/1/1998.

Prominent and unique features This site includes only the intertidal area. The substrate is fine to mixed cobble. The site was closed at the request of the City of Des Moines, which owns the intertidal. Description of fish, bird, and mammal resources at the site The site has not been formally surveyed for organisms but anticipated organisms include intertidal bivalves, encrusting organisms, sea stars. Programs in place to manage the site Onsite management is performed by the City of Des Moines. Issues of concern The site does not have an active volunteer or scientific program. Performance measures None at present.
