The Dalles Pool - Slow for legal size fish.

Smelt

Cowlitz River - Some, though certainly not all, got their 10-pound limits last Saturday (Feb. 21). Best action was from Castle Rock to Camelot. Effort was fairly high. Majority of the fish were males some of which were very large (9"). A high percentage of the catch were recently spawned-out. Anglers are reminded 10 pounds is about 1/3 to 1/4 of a five-gallon bucket.

Birds were actively working in the Willow Grove area (downstream of the mouth of the Cowlitz) today.
