Ringold - From Paul Hoffarth, WDFW Fish Biologist in Yakima -

We interviewed 33 anglers and sampled 12 steelhead this past week at Ringold. Anglers averaged 8.1 pole hours per steelhead. Very few anglers out fishing; cold weather has apparently kept many anglers indoors.

Kalama River - low and clear

This past week (Friday) 6 hatchery winter steelhead were recycled to the lower river, while 1 wild winter steelhead was passed upstream of Kalama Falls Hatchery (KFH). No fish handled on Monday due to low, clear and cold water conditions resulting in no fish moving into the hatchery. Fishing continues to be decent for anglers using light gear, with bobber and jigs (pink) producing most of the action.

Sturgeon -

No reports currently available.

Trout -

Klineline Pond - 17 bank anglers kept 17 rainbows and 1 cutthroat and released 3 rainbows. Planted with 1,500 catchable size rainbows on Dec. 5. Large numbers of cormorants are keeping the fish spooked.
