Salmon/Steelhead -
Cowlitz River from the barrier dam downstream - 29 bank anglers kept 1 winter steelhead and released 2 winter steelhead and 2 adult coho. 4 boat anglers kept 3 winter steelhead. All the steelhead were sampled around Blue Creek.
On the Cispus River, 2 bank anglers kept 1 adult coho and released 2 adults and 3 jacks.
At Lake Scanewa, 3 boat anglers kept 3 adult coho and released 5 adults.
During the past week, Tacoma Power and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife employees recovered 886 coho salmon adults, 128 coho jacks, six fall Chinook adults, 413 winter-run steelhead and 11 cutthroat trout during six days of separator operations at Tacoma Power's Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery.
Tacoma Power personnel released 120 coho adults and 29 coho jacks into the Cowlitz River near the Franklin Bridge in Packwood , Washington . A total of 364 coho adults and 17 coho jacks were released into Lake Scanewa above Cowlitz Falls Dam.
Tacoma Power personnel released a total of 271 coho adults, 55 coho jacks, one fall Chinook adult, 22 winter-run steelhead and one cutthroat trout into the Tilton River at Gust Backstrom Park in Morton , Washington during the week. A total of 346 steelhead and two cutthroat trout were recycled downstream to the I-5 boat launch during the week, and a total of 125 steelhead and five cutthroat trout were recycled downstream to the Olequa boat launch during the week.
River flows at Mayfield Dam are approximately 10,800 cubic feet per second on Monday, December 15. Water visibility is less than three feet.
Kalama River - No report on angling success. Through December 10, a total of 340 hatchery and 23 wild steelhead had returned to Kalama Falls Hatchery.
Trout -
South Lewis County Pond - 7 bank anglers kept 6 rainbows and 3 browns and released 4 browns. Fish were 12-14".
Silver Lake near Castle Rock - No effort on two days.
Kress Lake - 6 bank anglers kept 1 steelhead.
Horseshoe Lake near Woodland - 1 bank angler had no catch.
Klineline Pond - 10 bank anglers kept 6 rainbows and released 22.
Battle Ground Lake - 1 bank angler had no catch.
