Salmon/Steelhead -
Cowlitz River - Last week, 49 bank anglers kept 10 winter run steelhead and released another fish. 21 boat anglers kept 1 winter run steelhead and released a cutthroat. Through Dec. 20, a total of 1,136 hatchery winter run steelhead had returned to the salmon hatchery.
Cowlitz River - Last week, Tacoma Power and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife employees recovered 59 coho salmon adults, three coho jacks, one fall chinook adult, 138 winter-run steelhead and one summer-run steelhead during two days of separator operations at Tacoma Power's Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery.
Tacoma Power personnel released 26 coho adults and three coho jacks into Lake Scanewa above Cowlitz Falls Dam.
Tacoma Power personnel released one coho adult, one fall chinook adult and 17 winter-run steelhead into the Tilton River at Gust Backstrom Park in Morton, Washington during the week. A total of 57 steelhead were recycled downstream to the I-5 boat launch during the week and a total of 114 steelhead were recycled downstream to the Olequa boat launch during the week.
River flows at Mayfield Dam are approximately 5,020 cubic feet per second on Monday, December 29. Water visibility is three and a half feet.
Kalama River - No report on angling success. Hatchery winter steelhead recycled downstream today (12/29) 129 fresh fish and 50 recaps (fish already handled one time).
Eleven wild winter-run and one wild summer-run passed upstream.
Kress Lake received no steelhead plants
Trout -
South Lewis County Pond in Toledo - 2 bank anglers with 2 trout released.
Horseshoe Lake in Woodland - 3 boat anglers with no catch.
Battle Ground Lake - 6 bank and 9 boat anglers had no catch.
Klineline Pond - 115 bank anglers kept 39 catchable size rainbows and 25 brood stock plus released 8 catchable size rainbows and 14 brood stock.
