Salmon/Steelhead -
Cowlitz River - Boat anglers averaged a hatchery summer-run steelhead per every 3 rods last week. Bank angling was slow. Flows below Mayfield Dam were 4,020 cfs today.
Kalama River - Boat anglers sampled during the first week of June averaged a hatchery steelhead per every 4 rods. Bank anglers were catching some hatchery spring chinook and steelhead.
Lewis River - Boat anglers averaged about a hatchery steelhead per every other rod last week. Bank anglers were catching some hatchery spring chinook and steelhead. Through June 10, nearly 1,100 hatchery summer run steelhead had returned to the facilities. Flows below Merwin Dam were 2,070 cfs today.
Wind River - Still some spring chinook reported present in the lower river last week. Most of the effort and catch still in the upper river however.
Klickitat River - Still some big, bright chinook being caught in the lower river. Flows at Pitt were 1,490 cfs today.
Mainstem Columbia from Priest Rapids Dam downstream to the Rocky Point/Tongue Point line - Opens to fishing for hatchery adult summer chinook beginning today (June 16).
Sturgeon -
Ports of Chinook and Ilwaco plus Deep River/Knappton ramps - Last week, over 90% of the charter boat anglers caught their one-fish daily limit. Private boat anglers averaged ½ legal per rod, counting fish released. Bank angling was slow for legal size fish.
Bonneville Pool - Anglers are catching some legals.
The Dalles Pool - Including fish released, boat anglers averaged a legal per boat last week. Some legals were taken from the bank. Effective June 21 through the remainder of the year, all sturgeon must be released from The Dalles Pool.
John Day Pool - Boat anglers are catching some legal size fish. Slow for bank anglers.
Walleye and Bass -
Riffe Reservoir - Boat anglers are catching some smallmouth bass.
Bonneville Pool - Light effort for bass and walleye.
The Dalles Pool - Boat anglers are catching some walleye while bank anglers are catching some bass.
John Day Pool - Boat anglers averaged 1/3 walleye and 3 bass per rod last week.
Trout -
Riffe Lake - Anglers averaged nearly 2 landlocked coho per rod last week. The reservoir was reported 5.1 feet below full pool today. Kosmos, Taidnupum, and Mossyrock boat ramps are reported to be useable.
Mayfield Lake - Bank anglers are catching some rainbows. No boat effort was observed during sampling last week.
Kress Lake near Kalama - Bank anglers are catching some browns averaging 10 inches and a few larger rainbows.
Horseshoe Lake - Light effort and catches.
Merwin Reservoir - Anglers are find good numbers of 10-16 inch kokanee and a few rainbows. The reservoir was reported 4.5 feet below full pool last Friday (June 13).
Yale Reservoir - Boat anglers are catching 9-10 inch kokanee. The reservoir was reported a foot below full pool last Friday (June 13).
Klineline Pond - Producing rainbows.
Vancouver Lake - Light effort and catches.
Lacamas Lake - Producing some 12-14 inch browns and rainbows for shore anglers.
Recent releases of rainbows:
Klineline Pond - 1,000 averaging nearly 2/3 of a pound each;
Spearfish Lake near Dallesport - 1,162 catchables;
Icehouse Lake near Bridge of the Gods - 1,920 averaging nearly 2/3 of a pound each;
Little Ash Lake near Stevenson - 1,600 averaging nearly 2/3 of a pound each
Shad -
Camas/Washougal area - Anglers at the Steamboat Landing dock averaged 4 shad per rod last week.
Lower Columbia just below Bonneville Dam - Bank anglers averaged 3 shad per rod based on mainly incomplete trips.
