Sturgeon -

Lower Columbia from Wauna power lines to Bonneville Dam - Last Thursday (November 9), 60 bank anglers just below Bonneville Dam kept 26 legals and released 30 sublegals, 2 legals, and 7 oversize fish.

In October 2006, an estimated 13,500 angler trips from Wauna power lines upstream produced a catch of just over 3,300 legals. The cumulative sturgeon catch above Wauna is 6,700 fish from 51,100 angler trips through October 31. The annual catch guideline for this section is 12,000 resulting in an estimated 56% of the guideline being taken through the end of October. Effort and catch rates are still high but should taper off this month resulting in a possible substantial roll-over of uncaught fish into 2007-08.
