Salmon/Steelhead -
Blue and Mill creeks (Lewis County; both tribs to the Cowlitz River) - Open to fishing for hatchery steelhead beginning December 1. Blue Creek also opens for hatchery sea-run cutthroat. Check the regulation pamphlet for seasons, areas, and daily limits.
Lake Scanewa (Cowlitz Falls Reservoir) -
- Monday 11/21/05: 27 boat anglers kept 21 adults, 3 jacks and released 33 adults, 0 jacks. 8 shore anglers kept 2 adults, 1 jack and released 1 adult, 0 jacks.
- Sunday 11/27/05: 25 boat anglers kept 15 adults, 3 jacks and released 10 adults and 1 jack. 5 shore anglers caught no fish.
Kalama River - Moderate flow-increasing, good visibility
On Monday 25 hatchery winter steelhead were recycled to the lower river, while 4 wild winter steelhead were passed upstream of Kalama Falls Hatchery (KFH).
From October 20 though November 28, 2005 a total of 19 wild winter steelhead have been passed upstream of KFH, this is twice the 5-year average and equal to the 10-year average.
From November 10 though November 28, 2005 a total of 43 hatchery winter steelhead were recycled to the lower river, this is equal to the 5-year average and twice the 10-year average.
Kress Lake has received a total of 46 hatchery summer steelhead to date.
