Sport Sampling Summaries - PDF Format
Salmon/Steelhead
- Kalama River - Anglers are catching some hatchery coho.
- Lewis River - Anglers are catching some hatchery coho although most of the
fish are dark.
- Wind River - No report on angling success. Under permanent regulations,
closes to fishing for salmon November 1.
- Yakima River - Fishing for chinook greatly improved last week with an adult
chinook per every 2.3 rods or 4.4 hours per chinook. The estimated catch for
the week was over 1,000 fish. The salmon season is scheduled to remain open
through October 31.
- Lower Columbia below Bonneville Dam - Anglers are catching some hatchery
coho. Most of the effort is focused near Lady Island (Camas). Under permanent
regulations, the mainstem Columbia from Beacon Rock upstream to Bonneville
Dam closes to fishing for salmon November 1.
- Bonneville Pool - Boat anglers averaged a adult hatchery coho per every
2.7 rods last week.
- Hanford Reach - Angling success continued to improve last week with an adult
chinook per every 2 rods. Some steelhead are being caught by bank anglers
at Ringold. Tomorrow (Oct. 22) is the last day to fish for salmon from the
Old Hanford townsite wooden powerline towers upstream to Priest Rapids Dam.
Sturgeon
- Bonneville Pool - Bank anglers are catching some legal sized fish.
Walleye, Bass and other
warmwater fish
- Bonneville Pool - Effort and
catches are light.
Trout
- Swift Reservoir - Under permanent regulations, the last day for fishing
is October 31.
