Through August 31, an estimated 61,739 angler trips have produced a catch of 12,799 chinook and 32,417 coho.

Lower Columbia below Bonneville Dam - Last week boat anglers averaged an adult fall chinook per every 3 rods while bank anglers averaged one per every 10 rods. Some hatchery summer run steelhead, coho, and sea-run cutthroats are also being caught.

Nearly 16,800 adult fall chinook were counted at Bonneville Dam on Sunday August 31. A total of 4,588 adult coho and 7,647 steelhead were counted at Bonneville Dam yesterday (Monday September 1).

Bonneville Pool - Some fall chinook are being caught at the mouth of the tributaries. Eight to 16 boats counted off the mouths of the Big and Little White Salmon rivers and the Klickitat River last Sunday (August 31).

Cowlitz River - Boat anglers averaged over a hatchery steelhead per rod last week. Bank anglers were also catching some steelhead.

Lewis River - Only a few anglers sampled last week. About 10 coho were present in the trap at Merwin Dam today.

Drano Lake - Producing steelhead and fall chinook. An estimated 85 boats there Sunday August 31.

White Salmon River - Producing steelhead and fall chinook. 27 boats counted there Sunday (August 31) morning.

Klickitat River - Producing some fall chinook.


Sturgeon -

Lower Columbia below Bonneville Dam - Some legals are being caught from the bank just below Bonneville Dam and by boat anglers near Longview.


Trout -

Riffe Lake - Producing some landlocked coho for bank anglers.

Mayfield Lake - Producing some rainbows for bank anglers.

Merwin Reservoir - Boat anglers averaged over 3.5 kokanee per rod last week.

Yale Reservoir - Boat angles averaged 10 kokanee per rod last week.
