What kind of fish is that??

There are many varieties of fish that live in our lakes and rivers. Do you know how to tell them apart?

Bluegill Pumpkinseed
Bluegill are small with a blue-black spot at the base of their gill plate.They can grow to 11 inches and weigh up to 4 lbs.
Pumpkinseed are very colorful fish. They have an orange-red spot at the base of their gill plate. They have blue and orange cheek stripes. They can grow to 6 inches and weigh up to 1 lb.
Walleye Largemouth Bass
Walleye are olive-brown to greenish-black with a large mouth and lots of teeth! They can grow to 30 inches and weigh up to 18 lbs. Largemouth bass are olive to dark green. Their mouth extends beyond the center of their eye. They can grow to 23 inches and weigh up to 11 pounds.
Channel Catfish Smallmouth Bass
Channel catfish have a dark body with whitish bellies. They have a deeply forked tail and spiny fins. They can grow to 36 inches and weigh up to 32 pounds. Smallmouth bass are dark olive to brown. The mouth is smaller than a largemouths; which does not extend past the center of the eye. They grow to 21 inches and weigh up to 8 pounds.
Rainbow Trout Brook Trout
Rainbow are metallic blue-green with a silvery-white belly and have a red band on their sides. They can grow to 36 inches and weigh up to 22lbs. Brook trout have small red spots with blue halos on the side of their bodies. Theyhave worm like markings on their back and dorsal fins. Brook trout can grow to 21
inches and weigh up to 9 lbs.
