UPDATE: Areas 12, 12B, & 12C Hood Canal are closed.

Please be aware that Areas 7 and 7A San Juan Islands and Point Roberts will close for the season Saturday, November 17 at 9 PM for reef nets, Midnight for gill nets, and 5 PM for purse seines.

For the period of November 18th – November 24th all areas are currently closed except as follows:

Area 7B Bellingham Bay will be open continuously to gill nets using 6 ¼ -inch minimum mesh, and to purse seines using the 5-inch strip continuously from Monday November, 18th through 4 PM Friday, November 23rd.

  • The portion of Area 7B east of a line from Post Point to the flashing red light at the west entrance to Squalicum Harbor is open to commercial harvest continuously until 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 7th.

Area 8 Skagit Bay will be open to gill nets using 6 ¼ -inch minimum mesh from 7 AM to 7 PM on Monday, November 19th, Wednesday, November 21st and from 7 AM to 4 PM on Friday, November 23rd.

Area 8 Skagit Bay will be open to purse seines using the 5-inch strip from 7 AM to 5 PM on Tuesday, November 20th. Chinook must be released.

Area 8A Port Susan and Port Gardner will be open to gill nets using 6 ¼ -inch minimum mesh from 7 AM to 7 PM on Monday, November 19th, Wednesday, November 21st and from 7 AM to 4 PM on Friday, November 23rd.

Area 8A Port Susan and Port Gardner will be open to all purse seine vessels using the 5-inch strip from 7 AM to 5 PM on Tuesday, November 20th. Chinook must be released.

Area 8D Tulalip Bay will be open to gill nets using 6 ¼ -inch minimum mesh from 7 AM to 7 PM on Wednesday, November 21st, and from 7 AM to 4 PM on Friday, November 23rd.

Area 8D Tulalip Bay will be open to purse seines using the 5-inch strip from 7 AM to 5 PM on Monday, November 19th, and Tuesday, November 20th. Chinook must be released
