Chinook Selective Fishing Reports

WDFW continues to increase the number of selective salmon fisheries each year to allow anglers access to abundant marked hatchery salmon, while at the same time protecting wild stocks that are listed as "threatened" under the federal Endangered Species Act. An important element of selective fisheries is measuring the mortality of unmarked or wild stocks. To determine the mortality on wild stocks, and to measure the success of the fisheries, WDFW may increase monitoring and generate reports about selective fisheries. While these documents are important for managers, they may also be useful to anglers who want to know more about these fisheries.
