HARVEST PROFILE:
Shellfish harvesting from this beach should be avoided west of the
southern point of Gibson Spit. This area of the beach is in a health closure zone (Map).
Not much is known about clam poulations on this beach, but it is mostly rocky substrate and
there is probably not a lot of clam resource here.
DIRECTIONS TO SITE:
DNR-411A is boat access only. There is no upland access to this beach.
The northern boundary of DNR-411A is about 1,200 feet north of the southern point of Gibson spit. There is a dirt road
that ends at the beach just north of the northern boundary.
The harvestable portion of this beach ends just north of the southern point
of Gibson Spit (Map).
Nearest boat ramps: Port Williams (located about four miles northeast of Sequim)
is about 0.7 miles by boat from DNR-411A. John Wayne Marina (located east of Sequim one half mile north of Highway 101)
is just over a mile by boat from DNR-411A.
FACILITIES:
None. There is a pit toilet at Port Williams and full boating facilities
at John Wayne Marina in Sequim Bay.
