HARVEST PROFILE:
The beach substrate at Fay Bainbridge State Park is mostly sand with a few pockets
of gravel. There are horse clams, native littleneck clams, butter clams
and cockles available on this beach but none of these clam species is particularly abundant.
Geoducks can also be found on this beach below the -2.0 foot tide level.
DIRECTIONS TO SITE:
To reach the site from the west on Highway 305 from Pousbo, travel east on
Highway 305, crossing over the Agate Pass Bridge onto Bainbridge Island.
Continue for about three miles to the intersection of Highway 305 and
Day Road NE. There is a sign for Fay Bainbridge State Park at this intersection.
Turn left and follow Day Road NE approximately two miles to a T-intersection.
Turn left onto Sunrise Drive NE and continue to the park entrance about two miles farther.
To reach the site from the east and the Seattle-Bainbridge Island ferry,
travel west on Highway 305 passing through Winslow and continue for
approximately five miles. Look for Day Road NE on the right. There is a
sign for Fay Bainbridge State Park at this intersection. Turn right and
follow Day Road NE approximately two miles to a T-intersection.
Turn left onto Sunrise Drive NE and continue to the park entrance about two miles farther.
FACILITIES: There are restrooms, picnic areas, kitchen shelters, a volleyball area, year-round camping and horseshoe pits.
