HARVEST PROFILE: Clam populations at Rendsland Creek are sometimes too low to allow harvest, but this is an excellent oyster beach.

COOK ALL SHELLFISH: To learn about Vibriosis in oysters and other shellfish click here .

DIRECTIONS TO SITE: From the south on Highway 16 (Tacoma, Gig Harbor) or from the north on Highway 3 (Bremerton, Poulsbo) take the Belfair exit at the town of Gorst and continue on Highway 3 for eight miles to Belfair. Look for signs to Belfair State Park and take the turnoff (a right turn) onto North Shore Road but continue past Belfair State Park. After about 15 miles you will pass over the Tahuya River Bridge and through the small town of Tahuya. Continue on North Shore Road for about four miles. Look for Rendsland Creek on the left side of the road just before the Rendsland Creek Bridge. There is limited parking at the main gate near the kayak launch and a dirt parking lot off the right side of the road just before the main access gate and picnic area.

FACILITIES: Menard's Landing Park, operated by the Port of Tahuya, adjoins Rendsland Creek and has a vault toilet, picnic tables, a gazebo, information signs, and a small hand-carry boat/kayak launch site.
